January 7, 2019 – New York, NY— Prager Metis is proud to announce a successful continuation of its partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association. In 2018, their first year as a gold national team, the firm raised over $165,000 towards the Alzheimer’s Association’s goal of finding a cure and funding support programs.
This year, the firm participated in numerous fundraising initiatives throughout the year, including bake sales, a Peloton bike-a-thon, and a staff talent auction. In addition, the firm introduced Flocking for a Cure, a month-long, firm-wide game where team members nominated their co-workers, supervisors, and friends to be flocked with a 5 foot tall inflatable flamingo. This year Prager Metis was represented in the Manhattan, Long Island NY, Greater New Jersey, Los Angeles – Hermosa Beach, Los Angeles – Woodland Hills, Miami, and Westchester, NY walks, raising over $165,000 for 2018. This total brings the firm’s overall fundraising to over $300,000 in the last three years.
The Alzheimer’s disease hits home for those of Prager Metis, as it directly affects many of our team members’ friends and loved ones, including both CEO and Co-Managing Partner Glenn Friedman, and Co-Managing Partner and Chairman of the Board David Neste, who lost their fathers to the disease two years ago.
David Neste on the starting of the partnership: “We knew from day one we wanted our firm to support a cause, the Alzheimer’s Association was a perfect fit and working with them has been an honor.”
Glenn Friedman stated “Continuing our partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association has been an incredible experience. I’m proud to watch our Prager Metis team members all coming together to bring us one step further to finding a cure to this disease, and we look forward to what 2019 has in store.”
The Alzheimer’s Association works on a global, national and local level to enhance care and support for all those affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias. They are the largest nonprofit funder of Alzheimer’s research, the Association is committed to accelerating the global progress of new treatments, preventions and ultimately, a cure. Back in 1979, Jerome H. Stone and representatives from several family support groups met with the National Institute on Aging to explore the value of a national, independent, nonprofit organization to complement federal efforts surrounding Alzheimer’s disease. That meeting resulted in the April 10, 1980, formation of the Alzheimer’s Association with Mr. Stone as founding president.
